Everett, MA – Maria Bussell, the current Executive Assistant to the Chief of the Everett Fire Department, officially announced her candidacy for Ward Three City Councilor this past weekend. Bussell, a longtime resident of Everett, aims to bring her extensive experience in municipal service to the City Council, prioritizing community engagement and public safety in her campaign.
in her announcement, Bussell emphasized her commitment to listening to the needs of Ward Three residents. "I believe that every voice in our community matters, and I am dedicated to ensuring that our residents have a seat at the table when it comes to decision-making," she stated. Bussell's background in municipal operations provides her with a unique perspective on the challenges facing the city.
As part of her campaign, Bussell outlined key issues she plans to address, including enhancing public safety services, improving local infrastructure, and fostering economic development in the ward. "My experience with the Fire Department has taught me the importance of being prepared and proactive," she noted.
Local resident and supporter, James Rodriguez, expressed enthusiasm for Bussell's candidacy. "Maria has always been a champion for our community, and I have no doubt she'll bring that passion to the City Council," he said. Meanwhile, some residents have voiced skepticism, questioning whether her position with the Fire Department might create conflicts of interest. Bussell, however, assured constituents that her goal is to serve the community transparently and effectively.
As the campaign progresses, Bussell plans to host community forums and engage with constituents through door-to-door outreach to better understand their concerns. "Together, we can build a brighter future for Everett," she concluded.
With the election approaching, Bussell’s campaign is gaining momentum as she seeks to become the first woman elected to the Ward Three City Council seat. Residents of Everett are encouraged to stay engaged and informed about the election process and the candidates vying to represent their interests.
